Reynaldo Moreno
Reynaldo Moreno
Raised on the legends of Motown and Jazz ... influenced by Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Sam Cooke ... combined with a love of all music, from Pearl Jam to Jason Mraz, and everything in between ... Reynaldo Moreno brings it all together for a unique soul-filled journey of passion, positivity, and love. A self taught guitarist, Reynaldo first entered the Phoenix music scene in the early 2000’s. Coining the phrase, “Acoustic Soul,” Naldo commanded attention with simply a guitar by his side. After a few years in the twin-cities of Minnesota, Reynaldo returned home to Phoenix. He surrounds himself with music. He’s got soul running through his veins. He is constantly developing and fine-tuning his sound. Every live performance is a new best. You will get lost as the music envelops you. You will find yourself tapping your foot, shaking your leg, nodding your head. You’ll be singing his songs long after you’ve left the show. You will become his “Soul Chyld” and that’s a very good thing.

Check out the WATCH link, recorded live at BAND OASIS in Club Red Plaza.

FROM REYNALDO:
Music is life. It moves, it grows, it captivates, it interacts, and it changes. It is an honor to be able to create music and an even greater honor to be able to share it. The love and the friendship that I feel for all the people who I meet ... it's that friendship, it's that love, it's that kind of positivity that's going to change the world and make it a better place.

Thank you for your support. I'll be seeing you soon.

Out of the Hill country of Northeastern Mississippi through the ‘50s Rhythm & Blues of the Pruitt-Igoe Projects of St. Louis, nurtured in the Blues and Gospel of his teen years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ashford Gordon bears the standard for Contemporary Blues with a pedigree for the deep Blues of his birthplace in Starkville, Mississippi. Living on his grandparents' 100 acre dairy farm without plumbing or heat, it's no surprise that music was no where to be found. It wasn't until moving to St. Louis as a youth at his small Catholic parish school that it was discovered the young lad could sing. As he grew up, the sounds of Little Walter Jacobs, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Elmore James, Fats Domino and Chuck Berry streamed into the Gordon home via radio daily, prompting him to pick up the guitar and eventually shaping what would become his style. In his early teen years Ashford's father relocated the family to the San Francisco Bay Area. It was there that his gospel music education from church gave way to the power of the Blues. Ashford founded his first blues band in 1992 and he's never looked back. After a long musical journey up and down both coasts he found himself returning to California and ultimately set up shop in Ventura, Ca. just northwest of Los Angeles. Since then he's released a number of CD's including 1996's "Nothin' But Trouble" and "Somewhere Down the Line" in 2000. His gigs have included notable clubs and stages across the nation including the Monterey Blues Festival.

He is now based out of Mesa, Az. and is currently a member of The Second Hand Blues Band featuring Walter Cheeseman on Drums and Vocals, John Lombardo on Guitar and Vocals and Roger Strosky on Bass and Vocals.
